A mild earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in Gujarat’s Rajkot city and adjoining areas on Monday evening.

The tremor was felt at around 5.41 pm, briefly causing curiosity among residents, though no damage or casualties were reported.

The Gandhinagar Institute of Seismological Research confirmed the incident, stating that the epicentre was located about 7 km south-west of Rajkot, between Mawadi and Vawadi villages, at a depth of 15 km.

Officials reportedly said the low intensity of the quake meant its impact was minimal and largely went unnoticed in surrounding areas.
