Four individuals in Kutch created chaos by storming Mandvi police station on Friday night. The group, led by suspended talati Punshi Gadhvi, claimed the lack of investigation into a cybercrime application filed by his brother for the attack.

The group threatened to enter the police station armed with swords, knives, and even set the station on fire.

A complaint has been filed against the four attackers, who entered the police station after calling the police control room, announcing their plans to reach the police station to file a complaint about illicit liquor business in the area.

Four police personnel were injured by the attackers, including a PSI.

Punshi Gadhvi threw a dagger at PSO Santosh Rathore, but he narrowly avoided it. The PSO immediately ran away and reported the incident to the PI.

Meanwhile, the four attackers Punshi Gadhvi, Hari Gadhvi, Shamla Gadhvi, and Gopal Ram Midhani vandalised the police station, smashing glass windows, damaging walls, and overturning tables with their weapons. During the attack, constables Varam Gotecha and Jamadar Mehul Joshi sustained injuries.

However, other police personnel managed to apprehend the attackers and placed them into lockup.

Mandvi PI stated that the police had earlier arrested Devaraj Gadhvi, a known bootlegger from Panchotia. Punshi Gadhvi was present at the time of the arrest, and was not happy with the arrest of his fellow villager.

On the other hand, police personnel Mehul Joshi clarified that he had filed a report with the cyber cell to investigate the application of Hari Gadhvi, contrary to what the attackers claimed.
