Kesar mango auction begins at Talala Yard, 10,400 boxes received on the first day

The Kesar mango season has begun in Talala Marketing Yard. On the very first day, 10,400 boxes of ten kilograms each were received.. The costliest box was sold at ₹1,250, while the price for the boxes with slightly inferior quality of mango were sold at around ₹450.
Last year, 14,500 boxes of ten kg each were received in the yard on the first day. And a box of the best Kesar mangoes was sold for ₹1,500. This year, the revenue and price of the box have decreased significantly.
On the first day of the auction in the yard, mango and fruit traders from all over Saurashtra gathered in large numbers to buy Kesar mangoes.
Sanjaybhai Shingala, yard chairman, a former president of the municipality, and other leaders were present at the inauguration of the Kesar mango auction at Talala Marketing Yard.
At the start of the Kesar mango auction, traders from five different generations sold the first box for ‘Gaumata’.
The total proceeds of the first box of mangoes sold by these five families, amounting to ₹57,770, were donated to various cow shelters.
