JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination) for engineering after Class 12 Science is conducted twice a year—January and April—by the National Testing Agency. The result for the April session (Paper 1 – B.E.) has been declared today.
In the January session, 1,355,293 students registered, out of which 1,304,653 appeared.

Last year, this number was 1,475,103, meaning there is an increase of over 63,000 students this year.
In JEE Main Session-1 (2026), 12 students scored 100 percentile, and after Session-2, the combined final result includes 26 students with 100 percentile. Among them, one student from Gujarat has made it to the Top 26 nationwide.
Like Session-1, Rajkot’s Nimay Purohit has again secured 100 percentile, becoming the state topper. Approximately 44,000 students from Gujarat appeared for the exam this year.
According to the JEE Advanced cutoff, 250,182 students across India have qualified this year, slightly lower than last year’s 250,239, but the cutoff marks have increased.
From Gujarat, over 8,000 students have qualified for JEE Advanced.
Nimay Purohit had already scored 100 percentile in JEE Main Session-1, but he still appeared for Session-2 for practice, where he scored 99.96 percentile. Since the final result considers the best percentile from both sessions, he retained his 100 percentile and once again became the state topper.
