Jamnagar SOG apprehends bogus doctor for illegal practice

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jamnagar police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly practising medicine without a valid qualification as part of an ongoing crackdown on bogus doctors.
The accused, Mahananda Kamalkanta Goswami, 51, was apprehended during a raid in the Singhach village area of Lalpur taluka. A case has been registered against him at the Meghpar (Padana) police station.
Police said the accused, originally from West Bengal and currently residing in Singach village (Jamnagar), was found treating patients and prescribing medicines despite lacking any recognised medical degree or licence.
During the operation, officials seized medicines and medical equipment from his possession, along with cash amounting to ₹8,435, allegedly collected through illegal treatment.
Further investigation into the case is under way.
