Jamnagar minor lured into relationship, assaulted, accused arrested after pregnancy

An incident took place in Jamanagar where a 14-year-old girl was falsely lured into a relationship, then allegedly sexually assaulted by a man living in her neighbourhood. The incident was later reported to police after the victim became pregnant.

The accused was identified as Shabbir Abbas Mahur, 23

The incident came to light from the City A Division Police Station of Jamnagar, after the victim’s family files a complaint against their neighbour, Shabbir. Later, the accused threatened to kill her and even her family if she informed anyone about this.

The family came to know about the incident after the girl started having stomach pain at night and informed her mother who took her to hospital for treatment, where doctors examined her and found that she was pregnant.

Following the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under sections including POCSO and arrested the accused Shabbir within a few hours. Currently, the minor has been admitted to the hospital in Jamnagar for medical examination and treatment.
