Husband-wife illegally selling tickets for IPL final at ₹10k nabbed by police

Ahead of the IPL final on Tuesday, Chandkheda Police arrested a couple on Sunday for illegally selling tickets to the RCB vs PBKS title clash at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
According to reports, the duo, identified as Jay Patel and wife Vagmi Patel, was selling match tickets at triple rates. They were selling ₹2,500 worth of tickets for ₹7,500-₹10,000. The police have seized a total of eight tickets worth ₹2,500.
Chandkheda Police Inspector N G Solanki said, “In a bid to navigate illegal selling of IPL tickets, a team of undercover police have been deployed.”
Legal procedure was undertaken against the couple after the arrest.
The illegal selling of IPL Final tickets in the blackmarket has been proliferating in Ahmedabad. On Monday, a 21-year-old man was arrested for illegally selling tickets at inflated prices.
The accused, Bhavuk Chauhan, a resident of the Commerce Six Roads area, was apprehended while attempting to sell tickets for the IPL final scheduled for June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
According to police, Chauhan was caught with 11 tickets for the high-profile final match, valued at ₹1,500 and ₹2,000 each. Police said he had been selling these tickets for double the listed price, charging as much as ₹5,000 per ticket in some instances.
