Gujarat student who failed in Class 12 boards secures 705/720 in NEET
Adding to the controversies surrounding NEET results 2024, a student from Gujarat who failed her board exams scored 705 out of 720 in a bizarre turn of events.
In a marksheet doing rounds on social media, a Class 12 student who failed in Physics and Chemistry in Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board (GSEB) exam scored 705 out of 720 in the NEET (The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test).
She secured 1,321st rank in India and 424th rank in the category.
However, her ace result in NEET wouldn’t benefit her to secure a seat in any medical institution because of her board result.
Allegations of paper leak and unfair scoring of grace marks inNEET results have caused a stir across the nation.
While the student union Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the matter, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) held a protest at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad.
On the other hand, The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to form a Grievance Redressal Committee where the students appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) were awarded grace marks at some of the centres.
A total of 1,500 students have been awarded grace marks, as per a complaint.
The uncertainty surrounding whether there will be a re-examination of the NEET is leaving both students and parents in a state of turmoil.
