Gujarat cops in crime: Accidents, sexual assault, hit-and-run involving policemen

Gujarat saw crimes involving policemen this week with cops accused of rape and, hit-and-run.
While a cop in Ahmedabad injured three people after driving recklessly on the road, a cop in Amreli is accused of raping a 14-year-old.
On Monday, A cop named Yuvraj Singh Jorawar Singh, posted at Madhupura police station had a four-wheeler, and allegedly drove dangerously while leaving the Central Jail premises. His reckless driving led to a collision with an Activa scooter causing severe facial injuries to the rider, identified as Sanjaybhai.
An investigation is underway to ascertain further details and ensure accountability in the matter.
Just a few days ago, After an incident in Ahmedabad where a police officer recklessly drove a car and hit multiple vehicles, another case of police misconduct has now come to light. In this case, two police officers were seen brutally beating a young man with sticks, and the video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The incident is said to have occurred on Diwan Ballubhai Road. The young man was allegedly coming from the wrong side, and in response, the police beat him with kicks and sticks. The video shows the officers misusing their authority and displaying their power.
This excessive use of force over a minor issue has sparked outrage among the citizens of the city.
Amreli police shame
Two policemen in Amreli district have been booked for separate incidents of sexual assault. Police Constable Ravi Rajsinh Chauhan is accused of repeatedly raping a 14-year-old over four months.
Another constable Mahesh Solanki allegedly lured a 30-year-old woman from Savarkundla with the promise of marriage after contacting her on social media. He repeatedly raped her under false pretences. The survivor filed a complaint at the Amreli City Police Station, leading to the registration of a case of rape and cheating.
The drunk cop
Last week, drunk Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Y H Padhiyar was injured causing multiple crashes across Vadodara city.
In a state where alcohol is prohibited, the now-suspended PSI drove recklessly under the influence.
