Gujarat board exams conducted early, results delayed, likely after May 4

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board exams for classes 10 and 12 were conducted in February this year for the first time. Despite the exams being conducted much earlier, the board results are yet to be declared.
The class 12 Science exams concluded as early as March 10.
It is believed that the board is likely to declare the results after the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is conducted on May 4.
As the students are busy with last minute NEET preparations for admissions to medical, dental, ayurveda and homeopathy courses after class 12 science, the board results could affect their preparations.
As the admission to medical courses are entirely dependent on NEET, the board is believed to be shielding the students from additional stress of board results right before the NEET.
This year, for the first time, the board exams of classes 10 and 12 started in February, 13 days earlier than last year. Moreover, the exams of classes 10 and 12 science were completed on March 10 itself, opening up the possibility of declaration of board results by the end of April.
