Upcoming holidays and exams are set to disrupt the evaluation of Classes 10 and 12 Gujarat board exam papers for two days, on Mar 30 and 31.
On Mar 30, the board will conduct the Common Entrance Test for ‘Gyan Sadhana’ and ‘Gyan Setu’ scholarships from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2,667 exam centres across the state in 24,723 blocks.
Meanwhile, the ‘Mukhyamantri Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship’ examination will take place from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 2,382 centres in the state in 21,042 blocks.
Both of these exams are to be conducted at the evaluation centres of the Class 10–12 board exams, making it impossible to continue with the evaluation process.
The GUJCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test) will be conducted on Mar 31, which will take place at the district’s main centres. This will affect the evaluation processes at 50% of the centres.
Moreover, teachers involved in the evaluation work have also been ordered to attend the training for election work from Mar 28 to Apr 1.
Furthermore, only half a day of evaluation work was conducted on Holi (Mar 24), and today is declared a holiday due to the Dhuleti.
Due to these interruptions, the board has ordered all DEOs (district education officers) to conduct the evaluation work for one hour extra on the following days to compensate for the delay.
With the target of declaring the results early this year, the board is aiming to complete the evaluation work by Apr 5.
