Gujarat BJP in damage control mode, CR Patil to join candidates on campaigns

With mishaps in Vadodara and Sabarkantha constituencies, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch its damage control efforts soon. According to reports, state president CR Patil is likely to join party candidates in their respective candidates and accompany them with their campaigns.

A new for Gujarat BJP, an internal resistance has surfaced amid the party. The newly elected Vadodara candidate after Ranjan Bhatt backed out earlier, Dr Hemang Joshi has also faced some opposition from the party itself.

According to reports, Dr Joshi’s name came as a surprise to many, unsatisfactory for some who have been associated with the party for ling.

In Savli, WhatsApp messages reportedly made rounds, making allegations on Dr Joshi. This is believed to have brought the high commands of BJP into the damage control action.

As per reports, state president Patil was made in charge of the candidate selection process for all the Gujarat Lok Sabha seats.

Sources from the party stated that Patil is likely to join candidates in the Lok Sabha constituencies as they campaign for their cause, beginning as early as this week itself.

The party, according to sources, is being extremely careful in Vadodara, since after dissatisfaction over Ranjan Bhatt’s candidature, the second time has not also been turned out to be the charm.

Seeing people and the party workers moving away from the names declared, BJP is believed to be doing everything in its control to stop the spark of resistance from turning into a fire of rebels.

According to reports, the people of Vadodara, who have been on BJP’s side, have also been vocal about their displeasement with candidates’ names, with social media abuzz with discussion about the two names that have been declared till now for the Vadodara seat in Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
