Amid the ongoing heated row of state government employees over the new pension scheme (NPS), all the government employees announced a chalk down, pen down strike today.

However, the government does not seem to comply with the employees.

The demand to bring back the old pension scheme by government employees can be traced back to the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022 and has dragged till the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

All government employees will be conducting a voting session ‘maha matdaan’ where questions and queries of all the employees will be documented and submitted at the secretariat in Gandhinagar.

The Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh will also organise a maha panchayat in Gandhinagar on Mar 9.

Earlier, government employees protested in Gandhinagar over their pending demands, including the old pension scheme. The government employees demonstrated a protest at Satyagrah Chhavni on Feb 23.

There have been various protests, including by teachers and Gandhinagar RTO workers wearing black armbands during duty.

Notably, the government employees gave an ultimatum of Mar 4 to the government to resolve their issues.
