Fake irrigation department office, Modasa

In yet another fake office scandal in Gujarat, a fake office of the irrigation department has been discovered operating in a residential bungalow in Modasa, Aravalli.

Bayad MLA Dhavalsinh Zala had intimidated the police about the alleged fake government office in Modasa.

It is suspected that current and retired officials of the irrigation department were operating a fake office for three years. Four to five individuals, including district panchayat officials and retired personnel, were found working there. The operation was exposed by the Bayad MLA, prompting an investigation by Modasa town police, the local crime branch and other district officials.

During an investigation, over 50 rubber stamps, blank bills, letter pads, approval letters, printers, and computers were found in the fake office. Blank bills from various firms were also discovered.

After the MLA reported suspicions about the fake office in Modasa, the district development officer and resident additional collector sent a team to investigate.

However, the officials seemed unsure whether the office was genuine, providing evasive responses. DDO in charge RN Kuchara stated that the investigation is ongoing and action will follow the report. Deputy DDO informed the media that a detailed inventory of the seized items has been prepared.
