Drugs worth ₹25 crore, manufacturing machinery seized from factory in Umargam GIDC

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) team of Vapi seized drugs worth ₹25 crores from a factory located at Umargam GIDC in Gujarat. The raid, conducted at Sourav Creation in the second phase of the industrial plot, led to the discovery of 17.33 kg of MD drugs.

Acting on intel received by the DRI, the team, along with  CID and Narcotics, raided the factory located at plot number 404. The DRI team also seized machinery and raw materials used in the manufacturing process.

Three individuals were arrested during the operation — factory supervisor Vikrant Patel, and workers Kalpesh Dodiya and Ajaykumar Mehta. 

After the raid at the factory, Patel’s home was also searched where the team seized the written formula for manufacturing drugs, bills for the chemicals, and agreement for the rented factory. 

The accused were presented before the Umargam court, which ordered remand until October 11 for further investigation.
