After over a week of the horrific incident in Dahod where a school principal killed a 6-year-old in a car after molesting her, a local court sent the accused to Devgadh Baria sub-jail on September 30.
The accused principal of a primary school at Toyni, Govind Nat, had molested the minor in his car and allegedly killed her when she screamed.
Nat was arrested and a case was filed at Randhikpur police station.
Earlier, the court granted two remand periods to police and then finally sent him to jail.
According to reports, the accused was not cooperating during the questioning and was changing his statements frequently.
Seeking death penalty for the accused
The horrific incident had sparked outrage among the people who are demanding death penalty for the accused principal.
Vadodara City District Congress has organised a ‘candle march’ this evening to seek justice for the girl’s family.
The candle march will start at 6.45 pm from Bhagat Singh’s statue, near the old court.
The march will proceed to Vadodara’s Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Gruh where a protest will be held. After the candle march, a memorandum will be submitted to Mamlatdar on October 2.
