A case has shaken the state to the core that is boasted for its ‘women’s safety’. Dahod police arrested the school principal surrounding the death of a six-year-old class 1 student, whose body was discovered at a primary school in Toyni village of Singvad taluka.

According to reports, the principal, after attempting inappropriate physical contact with the minor in his car, allegedly killed her when she screamed.

The body of the girl was found under mysterious circumstances last week on the premises of the primary school in Toyni village.

The autopsy revealed that she was suffocated to death. Following this, the police registered a murder case and began investigation.

The Local Crime Branch (LCB), along with other branches and a dog squad, also joined the investigation.

Upon questioning the child’s mother, it was revealed that on the day when the body was found, she had sent her daughter with the school principal, Govind Nat, in his car.

When the child failed to return home after school, her parents and relatives began searching and eventually found her lying unconscious in the area behind the school building.

The police then questioned the principal and the school teachers. The principal initially claimed that he had brought the girl to school in his car, but after she got out, he had no idea where she went, and he carried on with his routine work. He added that after school hours, he went home as usual.

The police, however, were not convinced by the principal’s statement. After conducting a technical analysis of his mobile phone and further questioning, the principal confessed to the crime.

He admitted that after seating the girl in his car, he had attempted physical misconduct, which caused the girl to scream. In an attempt to silence her, he pressed her mouth, causing her to lose consciousness.

After this, he placed her in the back seat of the car and brought her to the school. After school hours, while leaving, he hid the girl’s body between a room and the school compound wall, placing her school bag and slippers outside her classroom.

After the confession, police later arrested the principal.

After the murder, the principal drove to Godhra to wash his car, attempting to destroy evidence.

Later he parked the car at the school with the windows partially open. If teachers or students had noticed, they might have seen the victim inside.
