Convocation dates of GTU, GU announced

Gujarat University (GU) and Gujarat Technological University (GTU) have announced convocation dates. Convocation of the GU will be held on January 24, and GTU’s convocation will be held on January 28.

The 73rd Convocation of Gujarat University will be a major event, as the number of graduating students has increased compared to last year. A total of 53,000 students will be graduating from Gujarat University this year.The Chief Guest at Gujarat University will be Venkaiah Naidu, former Vice President of India.

Convocations are typically held in the third or fourth week of January, and GTU has also fixed the date for its 14th Annual Convocation on January 28. This year, GTU has only registered 36,000 students for degrees for the first time, with a decrease of about 9,000 students. Last year, over 48,500 students graduated. The Chief Guest for GTU’s convocation has not yet been decided.

Notably, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has this year emerged as the top performer in the state, leading in the digitisation of student records. This includes a higher number of digitised marksheets and student credit records compared to other universities in Gujarat.
