Congress forms state-level committees for Gujarat local body elections

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted several state-level committees for the upcoming local body elections in Gujarat, according to a press release issued on March 5 by party General Secretary KC Venugopal.
The committees have been formed with immediate effect to strengthen the party’s organisational and campaign strategy ahead of the polls.
As per the announcement, senior Congress leader Bharatsinh Solanki has been appointed chairman of the Strategy Committee, with Lalji Desai as vice chairman and Hemang Vasavada as convener.
For the Campaign Committee, Shaktisinh Gohil will serve as chairman, while Paresh Dhanani has been named vice chairman and Geniben Thakor as convener.
The Election Management Committee will be headed by Siddharth Patel as chairman. Jignesh Mevani has been appointed vice chairman and Bimalbhai Shah will serve as convener.
In the Program Implementation Committee, Jagdish Thakor has been appointed chairman, with Indravijaysinh Gohil as vice chairman and Himmatsinh Patel as convener.
The party has also formed a Manifesto Committee headed by Shailesh Parmar as chairman. Rutvik Makwana has been appointed vice chairman, while Dr Manish M. Doshi will serve as convener.
Meanwhile, Dr Amee Yajnik has been named chairman of the Media Committee, with Lalitbhai Kagathara as vice chairman and Gyassuddin Shaikh as convener.
For the Publicity Committee, Kadirbhai Pirzada has been appointed chairman, Anant Patel as vice chairman and Chetan Raval as convener.
The formation of these committees is aimed at streamlining the party’s election strategy, campaign planning and outreach activities in Gujarat ahead of the upcoming local body polls.
