Complaint against eight in Surendranagar for raping minor

A complaint was registered against eight people in Surendranagar for raping a minor. Out of which, one has been arrested.

According to DySP Rabari of Thangadh police, the accused threatened the minor of killing her brother and took her to multiple places in the last seven months.

The 17-year-old minor’s mother filed the complaint against the accused for rape and abduction at the Thangadh police station of Surendranagar.

According to the complaint, the accused took the minor to different places and raped her.

It names Ajay Bharwad, Ajay Algotar, Shailesh Algotar, Dhruv Chavda, Kaushik Goswami, Vijaysinh Solanki, Darshan Sadadiya, and Kano aka Hari as the accused.

This comes after a series of incidents questioning the state of women's safety in Gujarat.  In Vadodara's Bhayli, a minor was raped by three people at a deserted place. The incident created a statewide uproar.

Days later, a minor, who went to meet a friend in Mangrol’s Mota Borsara village, was abducted by three people who arrived at her friend’s place and beat him up. The minor was then taken to a deserted place and was allegedly raped by the three persons.

That was followed by the incident of a woman raped in Kutch by her friend’s employer in the wee hours while returning from a Navratri event.

The incident took place in Rapar’s Adesar village. The woman went to play garba with her male friend and was returning with him on his motorcycle around 1 am.
