Class 12 student assaulted by woman cop’s partner in Jamnagar

A shocking and disturbing incident has come to light in Jamnagar on the final day of the Class 12 board examinations. A minor student from a rural area, who had come to appear for her exam, was allegedly taken in a car to a secluded spot under a new overbridge and sexually assaulted.
In a startling detail, the accused is the partner (live-in) of a woman police officer in Jamnagar.
According to information, the minor student from a village in Jamnagar taluka had arrived in the city by ST bus on March 16 to appear for her final exam. Upon getting down at the depot, she was approached by a man identified as Bharat, who had come into contact with her a few days earlier.
Bharat allegedly made her sit in his car and drove her via Saat Rasta to a deserted area under a newly constructed overbridge. There, he reportedly shut the car windows, threatened her, and sexually assaulted her.
Despite the trauma, the student gathered courage and appeared for her exam the same day. When she returned home later in the evening, her mother and brother noticed injury marks on her neck and questioned her. She then broke down and narrated the entire incident, leaving the family shocked.
The family immediately approached the Jamnagar City B Division Police Station the same night and lodged a complaint.
Since the victim is a minor and belongs to a Scheduled Caste, police registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act and the SC/ST (Atrocities) Act. Following a detailed investigation, the accused has been arrested.
