Amid the nationwide protest of medicos demanding safety for women medical professionals, an incident in Gujarat’s Chhotaudepur shook the state.

In Chhotaudepur’s Pavi Jetpur, a female nurse working at a primary health centre was assaulted by a man named Jagdish Rathawa. The incident occurred on the evening of Aug 20 around 5 pm.

The nurse was on duty at the primary health centre near her home. Her child was also with her. However, no staff member was present at the health centre at the time.

The man, who lives behind the hospital, reportedly approached the nurse and started behaving inappropriately. He reportedly groped her and tried to drag her out of the hospital premises. The nurse resisted, but the man overpowered her and forced her into a bathroom.

The nurse reportedly shouted for help, but no one came to her rescue. The man then attempted to assault her again. The nurse managed to escape and raised an alarm, attracting the attention of people nearby who rushed to her aid.

The police were informed about the incident, and they quickly apprehended Rathawa. The nurse has filed a complaint with the police station.
