In the development of the ₹6,000 crore BZ scam conducted by BJP-linked Bhupendrasinh Zala, one of the key accused, Mayur Darji, who had applied for bail, faced strong opposition from the CID Crime on Monday.

The CID Crime revealed that Darji had lured 39 investors into investing ₹1.09 crore in the BZ Group, promising them high returns.

CID opposed the bail application, stating that Darji should not be granted bail under any circumstances. After the CID Crime presented an affidavit in court, the Ahmedabad Rural Court scheduled the further hearing of Darji’s bail plea for the following day.

The CID Crime’s investigating officer, in his affidavit, informed the court that Mayur Darji had actively participated in the BZ Group’s multi-crore fraud.

Darji, while acting as an agent in Malpur, lured people into investing by offering attractive and misleading deals. He convinced 39 people to invest ₹1.09 crore, causing financial losses.

The affidavit also mentioned that as a result of his involvement, the main mastermind of the scam, Bhupendrasinh Zala, had gifted Darji luxurious items, including an expensive car, which is currently under investigation.

Many victims have lost their lifetime savings and investments, leading to great emotional and financial hardship. In view of the gravity of the crime, the court should deny Mayur Darji’s bail, the CID Crime emphasised.
