Ahmedabad’s Corporate Road offices were robbed off of ₹6.90 lakh last week. According to the complaint, the theft occurred in five offices within a single night at Ashirwad Paras Complex on Corporate Road.

The burglars broke in from the rear by damaging iron grills and windows, stealing a total of ₹6.90 lakh in cash from safes and drawers.

Pratapbhai Chunibhai Thakkar, a resident of Gandhinagar and a railway contractor, owns an office on the third floor of the complex. According to his complaint, after he locked up the office of ‘Bhagwati Construction’ on the night of Saturday, he received a call on Monday morning from Prabhatbhai Desai, an employee, informing him about the break-in.

The burglars had entered by breaking the rear window and stole a bag containing ₹5 lakh in cash kept aside to pay labourers from the office safe.

Moreover, burglars also targeted the neighbouring office No 302 of Ramchandrabai Tiwari, from where ₹20,000 was stolen. At office No 303 of Kalyansinh Rana, burglars entered but did not steal anything.

On the second floor, thieves broke into the safe of office No 206, owned by Prabhubhai Saradva, and stole ₹1.60 lakh in cash. They also took ₹20,000 from office No 201 belonging to Ruchikbhai Gandhi.

The burglars stole a total of ₹6.90 lakh in cash from five different offices. Since the burglars were not captured in any CCTV footage, Anandnagar Police have launched an investigation to track them down.
