Bomb threat email triggers security alert at Karmayogi Bhavan in Gandhinagar

Security agencies launched a major search operation after an email threatening to blow up Karmayogi Bhavan triggered panic among officials in Gandhinagar on Saturday.

According to officials, the threat was sent to the office of the Department of Legal Metrology located in Block No. 2 of the government complex in Sector 10. The anonymous email warned of an explosion targeting the building.

Following the alert, employees vacated their offices and the premises were cleared as a precautionary measure. Security forces were immediately deployed and the entire campus was evacuated.

Police teams, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad, conducted a thorough search of the building to rule out any threat.

Authorities have also launched an investigation to trace the origin of the email and identify the person responsible for issuing the threat.

Officials noted that several government and public institutions in Gujarat have received similar threats in recent months. 

Earlier, emails warning of possible explosions had been sent to post offices, passport offices and educational institutions across multiple districts.
