Board exams: Science for Class 10, Maths for Class 12 turn out easy

The general consensus about the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Education Board (GSEB) Class 10 and Class 12 exam papers was positive for Mar 18, where exams for Science (Class 10), Mathematics (Class 12 Science), and Business Administration (Class 12 Commerce) turned out to be easy for majority of the students.

On the other hand, eight cases of malpractice were reported on the day.

Class 10 boards

For the Class 10 Science paper, the questions were easy to very easy, according to the students. However, there were some complaints about the spelling in the question paper. Six cheating cases were reported in the morning session when the Class 10 exams were conducted.

Two of them were from Ahmedabad, one each in Amreli, Anand, Kheda, and Sabarkantha were reported. Two of the students caught cheating were repeaters.

Out of 8,58,511 students appearing for Class 10 this year, 20,117 students were absent on Mar 18. 

Class 12 boards

For the Business Administration subject in Class 12 Commerce, 1,539 out of 2,15,550 students were absent. A case of malpractice was caught in Ahmedabad and Patan each, during the afternoon session of boards.

In Class 12 Science, 402 out of 43,641 students failed to appear for the Mathematics exam, which was termed easy by the students.

This year, for Class 12 Science, all four main subject papers have been found easy by the students, providing a sigh of relief to both students and parents.

Next, the Class 12 (Science) students appear for English and Class 10 students will appear for English on Mar 20. However, Class 12 Commerce students will appear for the second language papers (Gujarati or English) today.
