Another MLA adds to the resignation spree of Gujarat Congress members as a sitting MLA from Junagadh’s Manavadar, Arvind Ladani, resigned from his post today.
Ladani submitted his resignation to Gujarat assembly speaker Shankar Chaudhary.
The 60-year-old leader defeated BJP’s Jawahar Chavda by the barest of margins of 3,400 votes in the 2022 assembly elections.
This string of resignations come amidst Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra” is set to make its presence felt in the state from Mar 7, spanning a four-day campaign.
This is the second sitting MLA to resign from the party in three days, as ex-Porbandar MLA Arjun Modhwadia, former MLA Ambrish Der, Dwarka leader Mulu Kandoriya, and Navsari leader Dharmesh Patel bid adieu to the party on Mar 4.
The turncoat quartet was inducted into the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of the party’s state chief CR Patil on Mar 5.
