Consultant at Ankleshwar drug firm mastermind behind cocaine production, distribution

Police investigations into the cocaine manufacturing bust in Ankleshwar GIDC has found Amit Masooria to be the mastermind behind the drug production and distribution network. Masooria was a consultant at the firm where the drug manufacturing unit was busted.

On October 13, 518 kg of cocaine — worth ₹5,000 crore — was seized from Aavkar Pvt Ltd in Ankleshwar GIDC.

Masooria, a resident of Rudraksh Elegance in Waghodia, was arrested along with another consultant and three directors of the firm.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police took custody of directors Ashwin Ramani, Brijesh Kotia, and Vijay Bhesania, and consultants Mayur Desle and Amit Masooria, on a three-day transit remand.

The preliminary investigation has found that Masooria allegedly earned a commission of ₹36 lakh from Aavkar.

He allegedly orchestrated the plan to supply drugs to Delhi and he convinced the three directors of Aavkar with 3% commission on the bill.

The drug manufacturing unit in Ankleshwar GIDC was raided on October 13 after it was found that 770 kg of drugs seized in Delhi was manufactured there.

A joint operation from Delhi and Bharuch police had found that the seized cocaine was being made to order and sent to Delhi. Officials tracked down the vehicles used to transport the drugs via their GPS systems.

So far, in this case, the police have seized a total of 1,289 kg cocaine worth ₹13,000 crore and 40 kg of hybrid marijuana.
