Exclusive: 21 AMC officials including Mayor Pratibha Jain cancel Srinagar trip post Pahalgam terror attack

A delegation of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) 21 officials including engineers, standing committee members, deputy municipal commissioner and Mayor Pratibha Jain has cancelled their trip to Jammu and Kashmir scheduled for Thursday after the gruesome terror attack.
The trip was scheduled for Thursday (April 24) to Srinagar for studying the success of Srinagar smart city mission.
However, the trip was cancelled on Wednesday following the Pahalgam terror attack, with no new date announced for rescheduling.
An AMC delegation of 47 officials had made a similar visit on December 23, 2024 aimed at promoting collaboration and sharing best practices in urban development, highlighting a shared vision of enhancing infrastructure and improving quality of life in Indian cities.
The delegation explored several transformative projects under the Srinagar Smart City Mission, including the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), Jehlum Riverfront, Balidan Stambh, Northern Foreshore Road, Nishat Sathu, Shalimar Canal, Ghanta Ghar, and the revamped Polo View Market.
At least 26 people, including three Gujaratis were killed at a hot-spot tourist destination of Baisran in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday.
As per reports, four terrorists in uniform along with two locals lined up tourists and shot them in the Baisran area around 2.30 pm.
