Three Gujaratis, including father-son duo, among 26 killed in Pahalgam terror attack; Kashmir bandh today

A major terrorist attack occurred on Tuesday in Pahalgam, located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists opened fire targeting both tourists and locals, resulting in 26 fatalities, including three individuals from Gujarat. Among the deceased are a father and son from Bhavnagar, and a young man from Surat.
In response to the attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar, where he held a high-level security meeting. He is expected to visit the injured victims today.

Complete shutdown announced in Kashmir
In the wake of the attack, a complete shutdown has been called in Kashmir today (April 23) to protest the Pahalgam massacre. PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti stated:
“The Jammu Chamber and Bar Association has called for a complete shutdown to condemn this horrific terrorist attack on tourists. I appeal to all Kashmiris to support this bandh (closure) in honor of the innocent lives lost. This is not just an attack on a few people – it is an attack on all of us. We stand united in grief and anger, and strongly denounce the massacre of innocents.”
