Accused in female cop’s suicide case also commits suicide

An accused in the case of Lalita Parmar, the female police official who committed suicide, was also found to have taken his own life in Ahmedabad’s Paldi area.
On Mar 5, the staff at a Paldi hotel grew suspicious when one of the customers did not open his door. The Ellisbridge police opened the door and found a body, which was later identified to be of Jaswant Rathod upon investigation.
Vasna cop’s suicide case
Lalita Parmar, a resident of Ahmedabad’s Vasna working at Paldi police station, committed suicide on Feb 29. While investigating, the police found a note written by Parmar where she accused Rathod of mentally torturing her owing to which she took the extreme step.
Based on the suicide note, Vasana police had registered a case against Rathod. Following which he had gone absconding from his native, Seldi village of Surendranagar.
PI RR Gadhvi of Ellisbridge police station said that the preliminary investigation revealed that Rathod was married.
Ellisbridge Police have registered a case and started an investigation, and Vasna police have also been informed about Rathod’s suicide.
