Woman commits suicide in Ahmedabad crime branch premises

In a shocker, a 32-year-old female doctor committed suicide and pronounced dead after she injected herself on her leg in the premises of the Economics Offences Wing (EOW) of the Ahmedabad crime branch on Mar 6.

Vaishali Joshi, 32-year-old doctor was found unconscious on a bench on the premises of the Ahmedabad crime branch near Vasant Rajab Memorial late in the evening on Mar 6.

In further investigation, it was revealed that Dr Joshi, originally from Virpur, Balasinor, lived in a paying guest (PG) facility in the Shivranjani area of Ahmedabad.

According to reports, Joshi often visited the EOW office for certain requests but was allegedly neglected by the staff.

On Mar 6, she visited Ahmedabad’s crime branch office, and she was reportedly threatened and shooed away by the staff.

As a last resort, disappointed Joshi injected herself with something on the leg while sitting on a bench in the crime branch premises and committed suicide.

An emergency service (EMRI) was called immediately, but she was pronounced dead on the spot.

According to sources, a suicide note was also found in the purse of the deceased woman doctor, in which some serious allegations were made against the police inspector (PI) of the crime branch.

Currently, the police have not disclosed the reason behind a woman’s suicide. 

Reports also reveal an alleged love affair between the deceased woman and the PI, although the exact cause of suicide will be known after the post-mortem.

Gaikwad Haveli Police Station has started an investigation into this matter.
