Accident on A’bad-Bhavnagar highway kills three, four injured

Gujarat’s highways turned fatal once again as another tragedy unfolded today, where seven pedestrians were killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle on the Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway. Three of them died on the spot, while four others are seriously injured.

As per the preliminary reports, a father-son duo and another person died on the spot, while other four are reported to be in critical condition.

All the injured were rushed to the Bhavnagar civil hospital for treatment.

Sources said that over 40 pilgrims had left Varsola, a village in Kheda’s Mahemdavad taluka. They were en route to Khodiyar temple in Rajpara, Bhavnagar.

The incident took place near Sanes village on the Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway.

Initial reports suggest that all the deceased are from Mahemdavad.

Traffic jams were witnessed on the highway following the accident. The police reached the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Vijay Gadhvi (approx 28), Dhiru Gadhvi (approx 50), and Pradeep Chauhan (approx 30).

The injured include Babu Dabhi (40), Baka Patel (60), Gula Rathod (approx 30), and an unidentified person.
