What are the allegations included in the charge sheet?

With the help of the traffic police department, commissioner S J Modi has mentioned serious allegations that the accused, Tathya Patel, had more passengers in his car than the permitted capacity. The passengers were Shrey Vaghasia, Aryan Panchal, Dhwani Panchal, Shaan Sagar, Malvika Patel, and the accused driver, Patel. Patel was overspeeding the car and driving recklessly at a speed of 141.27 kmph on the SG highway.

The charge sheet states that Patel intentionally drove his speeding car towards another accident site and rammed it over nine people, including police personnel. 12 people were seriously injured in this accident. The father of the accused driver brawled and threatened people at the accident site, taking his son away from the site.

The charge sheet also includes statements of 12 injured people, eight eyewitnesses, officials of the car company, CCTV footage from the cafe where Patel claimed to be before the accident, to the ISKCON bridge, Forensic science laboratory officials, the map of the accident site, an executive engineer informing about the speed limit sign board, and important statements of national highway department officials.

Technical features of the car included in the chargesheet

After Patel rammed his car, resulting in a deadly accident, the traffic police obtained information about the specifications and features of the car from the company service manager. Moreover, the history of the accident car has also been obtained from the car company.

The minor driver and his father were made witnesses

On the day of the incident, before Patel’s car thrashed the crowd, a Thar had collided with a dumper on the ISKCON bridge. The 15-year-old minor driver of that car and his father have been made important witnesses in Tathya Patel’s case by the police.
