90 New Gujarat Nursing Colleges Get Final Fee Approval, 8 Face Three-Year Fee Revision

The Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC), which determines fees for medical and paramedical courses in Gujarat, has announced the final fees for 90 private nursing colleges that started operations over the past two years.

The committee has also announced the fees for eight nursing colleges that started three years ago, with their fees for the current academic year as well as the previous two years now being finalised.

As students have already completed the earlier academic years at these colleges, they may now have to pay the difference between the provisional/ad-hoc fees already paid and the final fees approved by the committee, increasing the financial burden on students and parents.

Fees of 8 colleges announced for three years

The FRC has now finalised fees for eight nursing colleges for 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27.

The delay in finalising fees is linked to the process of determining fees for newly established colleges. New medical and paramedical colleges are initially assigned ad-hoc fees because they do not have sufficient financial records. Their final fees are determined after the committee examines their accounts.

In nursing education, delays in renewal permissions and approval of new private colleges, along with colleges not submitting financial accounts on time, can result in delays in final fee determination.

51 colleges also get fees for two academic years

The committee has also announced the fees for 51 private nursing colleges that started in 2024-25.

Their fees for 2025-26 and 2026-27 have now been finalised.

The fee decisions cover various nursing courses, including:

• General Nursing
• Auxiliary Nursing
• BSc Nursing
• Post Basic Nursing
• PG Nursing (MSc)

Students may face additional burden

With final fees for previous academic years being declared only now, students who have already studied at these colleges may have to pay the additional amount arising from the difference between the earlier fee and the final approved fee.

This could increase the financial burden on students and their families, particularly in cases where fees for multiple academic years are being finalised together.

Medical colleges also get final fees

The FRC has also announced the final fees for a newly established homeopathy college.

In medical education, final fees have also been announced for Kiran Medical College in Surat, which started its PG course last year, and a new MBBS college at Atkot in Rajkot, which also started last year.

Both colleges had been charging ad-hoc fees during the previous academic year.

For the PG course, the final fee has been fixed at ₹22 lakh under the state quota and ₹32.34 lakh under the management quota.

For MBBS, the fee has been fixed at ₹11.17 lakh under the state quota and ₹21.73 lakh under the management quota.
