7 injured in firing incident in Jamnagar after brawl over fireworks

A firing incident occurred on Friday night in the Kalawad area of Jamnagar, following a brawl between residents over fireworks.

The incident unfolded when the accused asked the residents to stop bursting firecrackers in the society. The complainant, Firoz Halani, responded that they would continue burning the firecrackers. In retaliation, the accused opened fire, injuring Halani and seven other family members.

Firoz Halani, a 45-year-old farmer, filed a complaint with the police stating that he and seven other family members were injured in the firing incident.

According to police reports, Firoz along with his brother’s daughters were bursting firecrackers when the accused expressed dissent towards the bursting of fire crackers and asked them to stop.The accused had also previously complained about this several times.To which, Halani responded that they would continue to burst the firecrackers. 

After the exchange, the accused brought a gun and opened fire, injuring Halani and the seven other family members.

Following the incident, the injured were rushed to G G Hospital, where they received primary medical treatment.

A complaint has been filed against Taiyyab Halopotra, Amin Halopotra, and Mamad in connection with the incident.
