A six-year-old child died after falling into an open drainage line in the Gandhinagar on Tuesday, according to reports.

The incident occurred in a labour colony located behind the fire station, where the child reportedly slipped into an uncovered gutter. Upon receiving information, the fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.

After considerable effort, the child was pulled out of the drain and found to be in a critical condition. The victim was immediately shifted to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital in a EMRI 108 emergency ambulance. However, despite medical treatment, the child succumbed to injuries shortly thereafter.

The exact circumstances under which the child fell into the open drain remain unclear, and authorities have initiated further inquiry into the incident.
