400 kg silver worth ₹10 crore seized at Rajkot airport

A major seizure at Rajkot International Airport has created a buzz in the business community after officials recovered nearly 400 kg of silver worth around ₹10 crore. The action was taken by the Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) after receiving specific information about suspicious goods arriving at the airport.
According to reports, the silver shipment was sent from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, to Rajkot through a firm named ‘Sunrise Firm.’ Investigators believe the consignment may be connected to a well-known silver trader from Rajkot’s Samakantha area. However, officials are still verifying the details as the investigation continues.
The large quantity of unaccounted silver has raised serious questions, and agencies are now trying to find out whether the case is linked to tax evasion or any illegal hawala transactions. The Central IB has started a detailed investigation and is checking all related documents and transport records.
Investigators are also examining how many similar consignments were previously sent from Varanasi to the Rajkot-based trader.
Officials have not yet made any arrests, but security agencies are closely tracking every connection related to the case.
