4.96 cr voters in Gujarat; 11.75 lakh first time voters; 10,000 voters above 100

Vote numbers in Gujarat

Gujarat is set to vote for the Lok Sabha Elections on May 7 with around a total of 4.96 crore voters in the state, including 11.75 lakh young voters aged 18-19, who will exercise their voting rights for the first time, according to official numbers.

The highest number of young voters, 67,504, are from north Gujarat’s Banaskantha Lok Sabha constituency.

In Ahmedabad, there are 35,609 young voters in Ahmedabad east and 25,257 in Ahmedabad west. In Gandhinagar, this number is at 37,477.

Voters aged 100 and above number around 10,000 in the state.

The number of voters aged 85 and above is 4.2 lakh. Vadodara Lok Sabha constituency in central Gujarat has the highest number, over 50,000 voters, aged 80 and above. Surat has only 24,131 voters in this age group.

There are a total of 25.21 lakh voters aged 70-79 in the state, while those aged 60-69 are at 51.14 lakh.

In Gujarat, voters aged 20-29 are at around 1.03 crore.

Male-female voter ratio

On comparing the male to female voters in the state, the data shows there are 2.55 crore male voters while 2.40 crore female voters.

Out of all the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies, female voters outnumber male voters except in Mehsana, where the male voter numbers (9.09 lakh) exceed females (8.56 lakh).
