33 suffer from food poisoning in Mehsana after eating sweets

Thirty-three people in Vijapur, Mehsana, fell sick due to food poisoning after eating ‘Kopra Pak’(a sweet made from coconut). Of these, 16 were moved to the Center Health Hospital from the community health centre. Among the affected individuals, one child was reported to be in a critical condition.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in Vijapur taluka, after an event was held at a local school. Following the program, ‘Kopra Pak’ was served.
On Wednesday, several people from the community who had eaten the sweet dish began experiencing symptoms of food poisoning, including vomiting and diarrhoea.
Upon learning of the food poisoning, a health team immediately reached the area and began inspection in the affected households. The health department has also sent samples of the sweet to a lab for testing.
