2.29 lakh students shift to govt schools in Gujarat, rising fees a factor
Parents in Gujarat are seemingly choosing fewer facilities over higher fees in Gujarat, as a trend of enrolling children into government schools can be clearly seen. In the past year, 2.29 lakh students have left private schools to enroll in government schools.
Despite numerous cases indicating a decline in the quality and facilities of government schools in Gujarat, middle-class families have found it increasingly difficult to cope with rising educational costs, forcing them to enroll their children in government schools for primary and secondary education.
While students have been moving from private to government schools annually, this year’s numbers have increased significantly.
