18-year-old killed in hit-and-run on Gandhinagar’s Koba Road, accused driver absconds

A tragic road accident on Koba Road in Gandhinagar claimed the life of an 18-year-old youth late at night, adding to growing concerns over traffic-related incidents in the area.

The deceased has been identified as Himangshu Arjunbhai Sharma, a native of West Bengal, who was residing in Randesan and working as a kitchen helper at a hotel in Kudasan.

According to Infosity police sources, the incident occurred near Sukan Sky Apartment when Himangshu was walking along the road. A speeding car, allegedly driven recklessly, hit him with great force, leaving him with severe head and body injuries.

Locals rushed to his aid and informed the 108 ambulance service. He was immediately shifted to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the accident, the driver abandoned the car at the scene and fled under the cover of darkness to evade arrest.

Infosity police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the accused driver.
