The injured woman, identified as Jyotiben Pradeep Gangude, was shifted to Sayaji Hospital in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment. Kapurai police have registered an attempted murder case against the deceased husband and launched an investigation.

According to the complaint filed by Vijayrao Petkar, a transport businessman from Ahmedabad, his daughter Jyotiben had married Pradeep Gangude around 15 years ago. The couple has a 16-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter.
Police said that at around 2.30 am, the couple’s son called his grandfather and informed him that his father had allegedly attacked his mother on the neck with a cutter, causing severe injuries and heavy bleeding. The boy further claimed that Pradeep had locked the children inside a room after taking a saree from the bedroom.
Hearing the child’s cries for help from the balcony, neighbours rushed to the house and safely evacuated the children.
Neighbours break window, discover man’s body
Family members and neighbours repeatedly knocked on the door, but received no response. They eventually broke a window and found Pradeep Gangude hanging from a ceiling hook in the hall using a saree.
Jyotiben was immediately rushed to Sayaji Hospital for treatment. According to the complaint, Pradeep allegedly attacked his wife with the intention of killing her. During the struggle, she also suffered injuries near her eye and on her hand.
Police register attempted murder case
Based on the complaint, Kapurai police have registered a case against deceased Pradeep Kishanrao Gangude under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for attempted murder. Further investigation is underway.
