Official civic data confirms 336 tree collapse incidents reported across the city's seven zones, with West Zone emerging as the hardest hit area.

The relentless monsoon spell caused widespread disruption to traffic flow, uprooting 251 full-grown trees and snapping 85 large branches. In response, emergency AMC field crews deployed across affected sectors to clear debris, restore electricity cables, and keep major traffic corridors open.

West Zone Hit Hardest as Civic Teams Scramble to Clear Debris

Out of all municipal divisions, the West Zone logged the highest number of incidents, recording 82 cases—comprising 41 completely uprooted trees and 41 broken branches. The North West Zone followed closely behind, reporting 60 incidents, including 59 uprooted trees.

To prevent widespread gridlock during peak hours, municipal teams prioritized clearing arterial routes first. Civic personnel have already cleared and resolved 327 out of the total 336 locations, with emergency clearance work still underway at nine remaining sites.
