Neighbours Stab Salon Owner for Installing CCTV in Ahmedabad

A 46-year-old salon owner was allegedly stabbed and assaulted by four neighbours following a dispute over the installation of a CCTV camera in Ahmedabad's Isanpur area on Thursday evening.

The Isanpur Police have registered an FIR against four accused—Sunny Ullah, his wife Gulabsha, their relative Wasimbhai, and Wasimbhai's wife Farheen—under charges including attempt to murder, assault and criminal intimidation.

Neighbours allegedly confront salon owner

According to the complaint, Sameer Ahmed, who runs Sameer Hair Salon in Faisal Park, Indiranagar, was at his salon at around 8 pm on July 2 when the four accused allegedly arrived and confronted him over an earlier dispute regarding a CCTV camera installed at his residence.

The accused, who are neighbours residing opposite his house, allegedly abused him, leading to a fresh altercation.

Victim stabbed below right ear

Sameer alleged that when he objected to the abusive language, all four accused attacked him, threw him to the ground and repeatedly kicked and slapped him.

During the assault, Wasimbhai allegedly pulled out a knife and attempted to stab him. Although Sameer tried to move away, the knife allegedly struck him below his right ear, causing injuries.

Locals intervene, accused flee after 112 call

Hearing his cries for help, a neighbouring shopkeeper, Modan Shahid, along with local residents, rushed to the spot and intervened, preventing the accused from inflicting further injuries.

The complainant alleged that after he dialled the 112 emergency helpline, the four accused threatened to kill him before fleeing the scene.

Victim treated, police launch investigation

The injured salon owner was shifted to L.G. Hospital in a 108 ambulance, where he was treated as a Medico-Legal Case (MLC). After receiving outpatient treatment, he was discharged.

Based on the complaint, the Isanpur Police have registered a case against the four accused. Investigators are recording the statements of eyewitnesses, including the neighbouring shopkeeper and local residents, while further investigation is underway
