Ahmedabad Heavy Rain Disrupts Flight Operations, IndiGo Flight Diverted to Indore

Heavy rain in Ahmedabad on Friday morning disrupted flight operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, with poor visibility forcing an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Ahmedabad to divert to Indore.

Kolkata-Ahmedabad IndiGo Flight Diverted

IndiGo flight 6E 245, operating from Kolkata to Ahmedabad, was diverted to Indore after deteriorating weather conditions affected visibility at Ahmedabad airport.

The flight could not land in Ahmedabad in the morning as weather conditions were not favourable for operations. It was subsequently directed to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport in Indore.

The flight returned to Ahmedabad around two hours later, after the intensity of the rain decreased and visibility improved.

Other Flights Delayed at Ahmedabad Airport

The heavy rain also affected the movement of other flights at Ahmedabad airport.

Several arriving and departing flights were delayed, with delays ranging from around 30 minutes to an hour. Passengers were forced to wait as flight schedules were affected by the weather conditions.

As the rain eased and visibility improved in the afternoon, flight operations at Ahmedabad airport gradually returned to normal.
