One worker slipped into underground tank during maintenance work; two others collapsed while attempting rescue
Three workers were rescued and rushed to hospital after they lost consciousness inside an underground sewage tank on the campus of UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad on Monday evening during maintenance work.
According to the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services, the incident took place while workers were repairing an electric motor installed inside the hospital's underground drainage system.

Preliminary information suggests that one of the workers, identified as Pravin Vaghela, slipped and fell into the partially filled underground sewage tank while attending to the faulty motor.
In an attempt to rescue him, two other workers — Sahil Nadiya and Rocky Macwan — entered the tank one after another. Both also lost consciousness, apparently after inhaling toxic gases inside the confined space.
