A search of the car led police to five separate parcels concealed inside bags and sacks. The parcels contained a white-coloured substance, which was subsequently sent for testing. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) confirmed it as ganja.
Ganja Worth ₹4.98 Lakh Seized
Police recovered 9.961 kg of ganja valued at around ₹4.98 lakh. Five mobile phones and the WagonR were also seized during the operation.
The total value of the seized property, including the vehicle and other items, has been estimated at approximately ₹5.83 lakh.
Four Arrested In Drug Case
The four arrested accused have been identified as:
- Mohammad Momin alias Rehan Islamuddin Malik (29) — Silvassa
- Rahul Singh Jagatsingh (26) — Silvassa
- Sandishkumar Mugulal Gautam (26) — Silvassa
- Khunnur Alam Ishrafil Shah (27) — Nani Tambadi, Nanapondha
Police questioned the accused to trace the source and intended recipients of the seized contraband.
Three Suspects Declared Wanted
During interrogation, the arrested accused reportedly told police that the ganja had been sourced from Sahubhai Medkachal, allegedly based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Police said the consignment was allegedly brought to Silvassa on the instructions of Surajkumar Chind, while it was to be handed over to another person identified as Rajkumar, also from Silvassa.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act. Sahubhai Medkachal, Surajkumar Chind and Rajkumar have been declared wanted, and further investigation is underway.
