Sola High Court Police said the child was found near Bhagwat Complex in Ahmedabad after Patdi Police alerted police stations in the region following the kidnapping.

According to police, the boy, whose family is from Sidosana village in Mehsana district, was allegedly taken from the custody of his legal guardian near the footpath opposite Patdi Bus Station at around 10.30 am on September 2.

Patdi Police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and circulated details of the missing child, including his description, to police stations in Ahmedabad and other areas.

Police Trace Child in Ahmedabad

Following directions from senior officers, Sola High Court Police formed teams to search for the boy and circulated his description among police personnel.

During the search, Assistant Police Constables Rameshbhai Bhupatbhai and Sanjaybhai Nanubhai reportedly received information about a woman matching the description travelling on the road between Bhagwat Complex crossroads and Pratham Party Plot crossroads.

A police team reached the location and detained the woman. The four-year-old boy was allegedly found in her possession and was safely rescued, police said.

The accused was identified as Meenaben alias Ramila Jagdish Devabhai Nathbawa, 40, a labourer residing near Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. She is originally from Rintoda village in Bhiloda taluka of Aravalli district, police said.

Woman Allegedly Planned to Make Boy Beg

During preliminary questioning, the woman allegedly told police that she lived with her husband and was involved in begging and collecting scrap.

Police said she confessed to allegedly kidnapping the child with the intention of making him beg.

The rescued boy was handed over to the concerned authorities, while further legal proceedings were initiated.

Police said the accused woman would be handed over to Patdi Police, which will continue the investigation into the kidnapping case.
