Waterlogging Paralyzes Key Neighborhoods

The initial deluge inundated prominent localities, including Vesuna VIP Road, the Khatu Shyam Mandir area, Ashwini Kumar Crematorium Road, Katargam, and Pandol. Water levels rose swiftly above curb height, catching early morning drivers off guard. Water trapped inside the Suryapur Garnala created a major choke point, cutting off smooth passage and rendering the entire stretch toward Podar Arcade virtually impassable.

Transit System Shut Down Promptly

As road conditions deteriorated and visibility plummeted, public transport bore the brunt of the storm. The Surat Municipal Corporation officially announced the immediate suspension of the entire Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) network. Passengers stranded at various shelters were advised to arrange alternative transport, as rising water along major dedicated bus corridors made safe operations impossible.
